Thanks for the fantastic turnout!

Update: Video of rally on Youtube

Hundreds and hundreds (over 1,000?) of Quarry supporters braved the rainshowers to attend the Quarry rally. Local, provincial and federal representatives stood shoulder to shoulder with the crowd and said that they will fight every step of the way to prevent the proposed development.

Reporters from CTV  and Global were there - should be on tonight's evening newscasts.

Update: the CTV newsclip is here:

Toronto Star estimates over 1,000 came to rally, article here

Thanks again for to everyone, especially CCQLD, for making this such a success!

Emails to area resident:

Sept 8th:

I support full community consultation and will support the community's will. Rob Ford

Sept 17th:

My position on this issue is that we need to hold a full public consultation for all the affected local communities. City Hall generally ignores these, but as Mayor I will do more than just pay lip service to these consultations. Sincerely, Rob Ford

April 27th Response:

"Thanks so much for the heads up on what I understand is a very important issue. Listening to local communities is very important to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to bring your concern to my attention. City Hall's ignoring the concerns of these residents is appalling, and I assure you, certainly not the way that I would run things. This issue is on my radar and I will take more time to look into it, as it is important for many Torontonians."
